Gaborone’s Airport Junction mall recently came to a standstill when Instyle Modelling and Media Agency shot a commercial modelling extravaganza with 12 models of all shapes and sizes. The models strutted their stuff in a combination of video and photographic modelling at the Stuttafords clothing store.
Famous for its variety of sophisticated brands such as Animale, Betty and French Connection, Stuttafords was the perfect sponsor for the launch. Models showcased formal, casual and sassy outfits, accessories, the latest trendy footwear and a variety of makeup styles.
The promotional material in the form of a fifteen minute television programme, a 30-second television advertisement and website photos will be used to promote the models and agency at home and abroad.
Produced and directed by local filmmaker and agency owner Billy Kokorwe, the video was shot in high definition in a fast paced, dynamic style. It will be edited by Heritage Media House, Kokorwe’s UK based company. Distribution will be targeted at fashion and entertainment television programmes and channels across the world. This is another calculated measure by the agency to promote its models and the concept of commercial modelling more widely.
Utilising state of the art post-production facilities, the 30-second television advertisement will be partly filmed in London, UK and broadcasted in Botswana and South Africa. The video and television advertisements are due to be released in February.
The agency will also start the production of a television reality show with a modelling and tourism theme called Backpackers. The show, which is currently at pre-production, is set to promote Botswana’s modelling industry as well as tourism.
