Indian spirtual leader and teacher Deepak Chopra has criticised those members of the US’ Hindu community who are calling for a boycott of Mike Myers (Austin Powers, Wayne’s World) latest comedy, The Love Guru.
The film is about an American who is raised on the sub-continent by gurus and who returns to his country as a self-help expert. Chopra reportedly collaborated on the film with Myers and told Associated Press that ultimately the film is about self-esteem and love. He (Chopra) further suggested that those who had idealogical problems with the film were clearly insecure about their own spiritual beliefs.
