On 30 October, filmmakers participating in the Cape Town 48 Hour Film Project
(48HFP) will set off to create a four to seven minute film in only 48 hours. Registration
for the competition has opened with early bird rates set at R1000 per team. This rate
stands until 18 September, after which the rate will be R1200.

After drawing a film genre teams begin developing a script which must include a
specific allocated character, name, prop and a line of dialogue.

Screenings of the films produced will take place on 7 and 8 November at a Ster-
Kinekor cinema in the region. The winning film will compete at Filmapalooza 2016, a
weekend event held in Los Angeles which celebrates the best 48HFP films from
participating countries around the world.
