NFVF call for Q1 funding applications

The National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Arts and Culture, is calling for submissions of applications for funding for Quarter One (Q1). The areas of funding application include: training, marketing and distribution support and development and production financing. Deadline date for applications is 22 April 2015.

All applicants are advised to carefully study the criteria and submission requirements in all funding categories. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applications received after the deadline will only be considered for the next quarterly meeting of council.

The following categories will be considered for production and development funding:
• Documentaries
• Features
• Short films
• TV Formats

The following categories will be considered for training applications:
• International bursaries
• Training provider funding

The following Marketing and Distribution categories will be considered for applications:
• Marketing and distribution – which entails funding for print and advertising as well as for independent DVD distribution.
• Film festival – which provides financial support to individuals or organisations to host local film festivals which create a unique offering for the industry

All applications must be hand delivered or posted to the NFVF at 87 Central Street, Houghton, Johannesburg, 2198. No email submissions will be accepted. The NFVF is however working on an online application platform which will be in operation soon.

The NFVF will inform applicants of the outcome of the applications in June 2015.

Approved applicants will be required to submit proof of banking details such as a letter from the bank, bank statement or cancelled cheque, tax clearance certificate (where applicable) as well as a newly certified copy of ID.
These documents should be submitted to NFVF finance before payment is processed.
