Hollywood-based MTI Film has introduced a new dailies processing product, CORTEX CarryOn, as part of its offerings to the post-production market.
CORTEX CarryOn is a fully-integrated, portable system which is capable of processing demanding production tasks and, with its compact and lightweight design, can easily fit into the overhead compartment of an aeroplane.
MTI Film Product Manager JD Vandenberghe says the system will benefit any production which seeks to streamline its workflow and increase dailies production reliability. He adds, “In particular, our new feature, called the CORTEX Manifest, can be used to send metadata files from the set to post, maintaining metadata coherence, including colour decisions and media file tracking information, from camera through final delivery.’
Equipped with MTI Film’s CORTEX Dailies Enterprise Edition software, the system is able to process raw, unedited footage at up to 4K resolution from commonly used digital cinema cameras including ARRI, Sony, Canon and RED. Users are able to work on footage quietly due to a liquid-cooled Intel i7 processor. The product also comes with a 12TB SSD RAID, GPU-accelerated rendering and both Thunderbolt 2 and USB3.0 technology.
