Some of South Africa’s most popular comedians will make a surprise appearance at
the revamped Sterland cinema complex in Pretoria on Friday 10 May from 19h00 to
celebrate the release of their latest comedy, Blitz Patrollie.
Moviegoers will have the chance to meet stars David Kau, Joey Rasdien, Chris Forrest,
Sans Moonsamy, Kagiso Lediga and the legendary Mel Miller. On the night, viewers
can chat to the cast members, ask them questions, pose for photographs with these
comic geniuses and even watch them perform a short skit before the movie starts at
20h00.
Andrew Wessels, the director of Blitz Patrollie and producer Isaac Mogajane will also
be in attendance to answer behind-the-scenes questions.
Blitz Patrollie follows the antics of the people at a little-known police depot in the
heart of the Johannesburg CBD, including Officer Rummeck ‘Rummy’ Augustine (Joey
Rasdien), who has serious family problems, and Ace Dikolobe (David Kau), who
absolutely loves his job.
In a poor neighbourhood, Rummy and Ace stumble upon a massive drug haul,
together with their inept sniper colleagues, Braam Moerdyk (Chris Forrest) and Jack
Makweru (David Kibuuka) from the station’s Sniper Development Programme.
When the haul gets stolen from under their noses, the prime suspects in the missing
drug saga are the notorious Naidoo brothers, played by Sans Moonsamy and Kaseran
Pillay.
