South African filmmaker Jahmil X.T. Qubeka’s new film, Of Good Report, makes its world debut at the 42nd International Film Festival Rotterdam, which screens from 23 January to 3 February 2013. Qubeka’s new movie follows on from his previous feature, A Small Town Called Descent about the 2008 xenophobic attacks in which more than 60 people died.
Of Good Report tells the story of a demented school teacher who attempts to get away with the brutal murder of a teenage beauty queen. Qubeka’s film has been described as paying homage to classic film noir.
