National Geographic Channel and Origins Centre will present a screening of the hard-hitting documentary, Hilary Clinton’s State Department, on Sunday 27 March at Origins Centre, Wits University, Johannesburg.
This event follows the successful screening of the film, Obama’s White House, at the end of February.
In the Hilary Clinton documentary cameras follow secretary of state Clinton as she travels through politically sensitive parts of the world such as Pakistan, Israel, Egypt and Afghanistan. Audiences take a front row seat as Clinton engages with foreign leaders, civilians and the press.
Featuring in-depth interviews with security staff, foreign diplomats and Hillary Clinton herself, this is politics directly from the frontline.
At the screening Consul General Andrew A Passen of the US Embassy in South Africa will provide an expert introduction to the film. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Passen has served abroad for 25 of the past 27 years, many of them in African countries such as Nigeria, Zambia, Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal. Prior to his term in South Africa he was Team Leader of the Baghdad Provincial Reconstruction Team in Iraq.
