Thapelo Mokoena is the producer of the feature, Skyf, which will be released in cinemas on 1 April. It is a dark comedy drama about a distressed young man, Themba (Thapelo Mokoena) who’s addiction to smoking is the sole reason for his disastrous life. Themba, who was once perceived as a responsible married father, with a potential to be as successful young individual, tries to turn his life around when he crosses paths with a young boy who is out to impress his gangster friend, a promiscuous girl and a virgin who comes from religious family.
Skyf, is the slang word for “joint’ and as the film’s name suggests, addiction is the core theme. The movie takes you through a journey of six individuals, living regular, happy lives with one major problem — the addiction of smoking.
