Deprived James Bond fans will have to wait until 9 November 2012 to see the 23rd film in the phenomenally successful Bond franchise. Ultra rugged British actor Daniel Craig will reprise the lead role he took (to great acclaim) in the most recent Bond films, Casino Royale (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008).
According to Cineuropa, production on the as yet untitled new Bond film will commence in late 2011. Oscar-winning Sam Mendes (American Beauty) is to direct. Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions are the producers.
The long delay between Quantum of Solace and the upcoming film is attributed to the recent financial problems of MGM.
