Exhibition stand sales for the 2011 Mediatech Africa, to be held from 20 to 22 July at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg, are up 20% for the same period of sales for 2009, indicating growth despite the recession.
Mediatech Africa is the biennial technology trade exhibition for the broadcast, film production, post-production, systems integration, pro-audio and live events industries. The 2009 exhibition attracted 6 779 visitors.
Twenty-six exhibitors were confirmed by the end of November. These include Sony South Africa; Altech; Inala Technologies; Jaycor Internatonal; Matrix Sound; Telemedia; Visual Impact; The Camera Platform; Pro-sales; Harambe Technologies; Tru-Fi Electronics; and Musical Distributors, among others.
Mediatech Africa director Simon Robinson expects that stereoscopic 3D technology will be a big driver in the broadcast and film side of the exhibition.
