Final year Advanced Acting Diploma student Nicole Bailey has been cast for the leading role in multimillion dollar 3D movie Judge Dredd.

Bailey’s acting skills  impressed producer Andrew Macdonald (Trainspotting) and director Pete Travis (Endgame) even before she’d completed her Advanced Acting Diploma at CityVarsity.

The final term has been hectic for Nicole. She has been performing at night in the final year physical theatre production, Scapecoat (directed by Danish theatre-maker Yori Snell), and rehearsing and shooting during the day alongside the likes of Karl Urban (Lord of the Rings), Olivia Thirlby (Juno) and Wood Harris (The Wire). Nicole had starred in several student movies during her time at CityVarsity, and was consequently prepared for the long hours and numerous takes, but shooting at the brand new Cape Town Film Studios with an international cast and crew on a $45 million movie was an exhilarating first for her.
