American double-Oscar winning actor Robert De Niro (The Godfather Part II, Raging Bull) is to receive the Cecil B DeMille Award at the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards, which take place in Hollywood in January. The award honours lifetime achievement in motion pictures.
Thought by many to be the world’s greatest actor, De Niro won a Golden Globe for Raging Bull and has received seven other Globe nominations.
Presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the winners for each year’s Golden Globe awards event are selected by about 80 journalists who work for foreign newspapers, magazines and websites. (Source: The Wrap)
