The Instituto de la Cinematografia y de las Artes Audiovisuales (ICAA), part of Spain’s Ministry of Culture, has cut the film subsidy cap for indigenous films by 25%. This means that maximum general and complementary aid per movie will fall from $2.4 million to $1.8m.
According to Daily Variety, the subsidy, tabbed at 15% of a film’s box office, was previously capped at $980,000. The new cap will now be $490,000.
