The spotlight will be firmly on ethics and morality in South Africa in the new SABC TV programme, Encounters which screens on 3 February 2008. Hosted by well-known and respected journalist, Fred Khumalo, the show will be broadcast on SABC2 at 12h30 on Sundays.

In an exciting 360° format, Khumalo and expert guests tackle a range of topical and somewhat controversial, yet always pertinent, issues. These include: Doctors and the Hippocratic Oath; Are the Youth of Today Morally Degenerate; and Until Death do us Part, or Someone Else comes Along.

Encounters conveys a spectrum of views – alternative churches, cultural workers, academics, practitioners, business and many others. Among the participants are comedian John Vlismas who communicates his clear views on moral regeneration, while trade unionists such as Frans Baleni and captains of industry like Paul Harris confront the practical meaning of business ethics.

Encounters is produced by Kagiso TV & Communications, a production and communications company well known for its educational and development programmes, including TV series Walala Wasala, Beyond the Classroom and Vuk’uzenzele and radio series Be Financially Smart.
