Studio Briefing reports that Steven Spielberg (Saving Private Ryan, ET: The Extra Terrestrial) and Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings, Heavenly Creatures) will team up to do three films based on Georges Remi’s Adventures of Tintin comic book series. Each filmmaker will direct one film, with the third director still to be confirmed.
Spielberg and Jackson are planning to use the same motion-capture technology that was used to create the character of Gollum in Lord of the Rings to give the film a photorealistic, non-traditional live action look.
