Hugh Grant has hesitantly stuttered his way to the top of the South African box office in the romantic comedy, “Music and Lyrics’, co-starring Drew Barrymore. The film made a hefty R2 323 888 in its first week.
In second spot is the Will Smith heartwarming drama, “The Pursuit of Happyness’, followed by the animated “Barnyard’, the controversial and Oscar-nominated “Blood Diamond’ and “The Last King of Scotland’, starring Oscar and Golden Globe winner Forest Whitaker. This film is faring well, considering it is more of an arthouse release, and has made over R2m in two weeks.
“Blood Diamond’ has clocked up R8 817 422 in seven weeks.
