Africa’s premier local music channel has announced the Amarula Spirit of Africa partnership for the Channel O African Music Video Awards. The awards are now called the Channel O Spirit of Africa Music Video Awards.
Channel O and Amarula are both African brands and have become forces to be reckoned with. Global Business Development Manager for Amarula, Siobhan Thompson firmly believes in the power of music, particularly in Africa: “This is a continent that is characterised by a myriad of cultures, traditions and artistic expressions, including music. Amarula is delighted to embrace the enormous talent of these artists in support of our musical heritage and in celebrating the true spirit of Africa”.

The awards, hosted by comedian David Kau, will be held on Sunday, 15 October at Gallagher Estate and broadcast on Channel O on Sunday, 22 October 2006 at 20:00CAT. Channel O is available on the DStv bouquet on channel 87.
Guest presenters include, among others, Big Brother Nigeria winner Katung, Melody Zulu, the Nokia Face of Africa finalist from Natal, Pat Cash from Kaya FM and Lee Kasumba from YFM.
