South African production house Rapid Blue scooped one Gold and one Silver Award at Promax New York in June. Both Promax Awards were for promos produced for SuperSport Campaigns. The Annual Promax Awards recognise excellence in promo work from across the world.
Promo director Bruce Trollip won Gold for his Wimbledon 2005 promo. Says Trollip: “I couldn’t have asked for more recognition, I love what I do and winning gold at Promax is only the beginning for me.”
Gareth Whitaker in turn won Silver for his 2005 Formula 1 campaign. Says Whitaker: “Live the dream. Now I’ll get that supermodel girlfriend.”
Both Trollip and Whitaker are first time Promax winners and both plan to enter Promax 2007 with work they hope will prove these latest awards are not flukes.
This is not the first time that Rapid Blue has triumphed at Promax, having previously won five gold and two silver awards.
CEO of Rapid Blue Duncan Irvine says: “I am very proud of the guys. They have had an exceptional year, generating great work. It is also exciting is that this is the sixth year that we have won at the Promax World Gold’s”
Pierre Cloete on-air marketing manager of SuperSport says: “We are proud that once again SA promos are being recognised internationally. We are also delighted that all the hard work by a dedicated team is rewarded at this level. The Promax winners prove that local talent has the passion and ability to create exceptional work that can compete on the world stage.”
