Comedy Central Africa has acquired the exclusive broadcast rights to U.S. late-night talk show, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon from NBC Universal International Distribution.

“We are delighted that Jimmy will be joining our stellar line-up as star of The Tonight Show, and thrilled to bring the show to our audiences within 24-hours of the U.S. premiere to make life funnier,’ said Dillon Khan, the vice president of Comedy Central Africa.

Jimmy Fallon is popularly known for his former role as a cast member on the Saturday Night Live show. On August 2015, NBC announced that Fallon signed a contract to be the host of the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon until at least 2021.

Comedy Central viewers will be treated to Fallon’s trademark humour and high-tempo energy, his welcoming interview style, love of audience participation, spot-on impersonations, celebrity guests and innovative sketches alongside Grammy award-winning group, The Roots as the show’s house band.

The show will air exclusively on Comedy Central (DStv channel 122), commencing on 5 June 2017 at 22h00 on weekdays.

Comedy Central Africa is also home to The Daily Show hosted by popular SA comedian, Trevor Noah. The two comedy shows are said to be the most internationally recognised talk shows on the channel.
