RTI Group at DISCOP Africa 2015

Ivorian National Television (RTI Group) will be attending DISCOP Africa, taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg from 4 to 6 November, with its Distribution branch RTI Distribution representing the group’s ambitions to strongly develop in both domestic and international markets.

The group will also be available to discuss co-production deals regarding some very
ambitious projects it has been working on to develop Ivorian fiction.

RTI Group will be holding a one-hour session at DISCOP Africa, on Wednesday, 4
November from 17h00 to 18h00. The group will be located at stand I1- J2.

Featured programmes for DISCOP Africa Johannesburg include:

Four One Nine 2
This television series, directed by Alain Guikou, follows lieutenant Cynthia and her
colleague Patrick from the platform against cybercrime, who are on a quest to track
down Geraud and Camso, two cybercriminals chased by their victim, the Saudi Al-
Bashir.

Rare Commodity
Also by director Alain Guikou, the television series Rare Commodity is
set in the great forest of Tahabo, where Kore, Drame and Joe, three corrupt agents
of the Criminal Investigation Department are tracking down Baddy, an accountant
who embezzled 250 000 million belonging to the Ivory Coast rice importation Fund.

National Security
Due to the growing insecurity reigning in the country, the President decides to
establish a secret police department aptly named National Security. This special
unit made up of a mix of ex-convicts and some of the best response unit agents will
fight against crime under the guidance of the President and the supervision of Chief
Bailly, a retired iron lady. The television series National Security is
directed by Andy Melo.

Sibling Rivalry
The drama series Sibling Rivalry, directed by Erico Sery, centres
around the family of Frederic Kalou, the wealthy founder of Kalou Cafe Cacao
(KCC), one of the most important African companies. Despite his professional
duties, he was able to instill in his children the values that make their family the
perfect one. But trouble is on the horizon…

Nafi
Directed by Eugenie Ouattara Delaveau, the television series Nafi
introduces the viewer to Nafissatou Toure (Nafi), is a beautiful 17-year-old girl,
from a poor family. Her father, the old man Toure, is a polygamist with three wives
and 28 children, working as a courier in a local company.

Life Lessons
Life Lessons, directed by Bernard Yao Mafili, is a set of mini-series’
dealing with jealousy, deceit, greed and other plagues undermining a society in
search of identity.

What’s up here?
Directed by Ana Ballo, this comedy series is made up of social satires depicting the
funny, strange or absurd nature of particular life situations. What’s up here?
stems from the humorous drawings of an Ivorian cartoonist.

Psych
Co-directed by Armand Breh and Siam Marley, Psych tells the story of
Hal Rosenthal, a psychologist working in a district of Abidjan in Ivory Coast. Many
people come through his office to talk about their problems. These people not only
embody different aspects of Ivorian society but also of African society.

Only One Dream
The adventure series Only One Dream, directed by Erico Sery follows
Patrick, an Ivorian aged 25, who is still convinced he can become a professional
footballer despite his age, but this will be a slow and painful process. The series
was shot between Abidjan, Paris and Rio de Janeiro.
