Africa 24, the Afrotainment Family of Channels’ 24-hour French speaking African News channel, has received approval to launch across Canada from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC). Africa 24 core programming includes Africa News Room, a popular weekday live programme covering daily African headline news; a newscast every 30 minutes as well as other African focussed content such as talk-shows, debates, sports news and analysis and magazine shows.
“The addition of a 24/7 African News channel gives the Afrotainment Family of Channels the opportunity to fill a void that exists in our channels packaging dedicated to the African Diaspora in America,’ said Yves Bollanga, CEO of the Afrotainment Family of channels.
“Entering the Canadian market is a crucial step in our overall strategy to deliver African news to the world. This additional International expansion solidifies Africa 24 position as a leader in African News programming in North America. We are thrilled that the Canadian government, via its commission recognises our relevance and commitment.’ said Constant Nemale, president of Africa 24.
