The Emerging Black Filmmakers Transformation Fund (EBFTF), an initiative created
by
the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) and the Industrial Development
Corporation (IDC) is no longer accepting pilot film proposals as from the closing date
on
19 September.
The EBFTF provides financial, marketing and other related support to emerging black
filmmakers and is designed for filmmakers who have released fewer than five feature
films.
The first phase of EBFTF includes identification of a pilot project in order to refine the
process from selection through to contracting and releasing of a film. A total of 85
applications were received for the EBFTF and acknowledgement letters have been
sent
to all applicants. The next step in the process is to evaluate those applications and
identify which have complied with the criteria for entry. A short list of successful
applications will be announced and candidates will be invited to the next stage which
is
pitching their concepts – the details of which will be announced once the successful
applications have been identified.
