Namibian screening of Felix to celebrate 20 years of democracy in SA

On 30 August at 19h00, AfricAvenir Windhoek and the South African High
Commission present a screening of Felix at the Goethe-Centre
Windhoek in celebration of South Africa’s 20 years of democracy.

The film features the story of a 14-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a
saxophonist like his late father, despite his mother being against it. When he
earns a scholarship at a private school, he defies his mother and prepares to play
in the school jazz concert.

The film is directed by Roberta Durant and has won a number of awards including
the Audience Choice Award at the Durban International Film Festival, the Lucas Award for Best Film at the Lucas International Children’s Film Festival in Germany and the Best Director award at the African International Film Festival in Nigeria.
