One, the first movie to be produced under the 2011 South African and Australian co-production treaty, is due to be filmed in Cape Town and Johannesburg in late 2014.
Directed by Australian filmmaker Murali Thalluri, co-produced and co-financed by Main Street Films, MK Create and the Kojo Group and co-produced by Cape Town-based Enigma Pictures, the film features prominent Hollywood stars Djimon Hounsou (Blood Diamond) and Alexis Knapp (Pitch Perfect).
“I can’t wait. I’m coming soon. I’m looking forward to making another film in South Africa,’ said Hounsou.
One features the story of different ethnic groups who go against each other in the search for a cure to a virus which has left the world devastated. When doctors discover a woman who is immune to the virus, she is captured and becomes the world’s greatest hope.
