The South African movie 360 Degrees – A Sacrifice (working title) is being shot in
the coastal town of East London, which offers picturesque scenery akin to
popular production destination Cape Town, without the related heavy expenses.
Beacon Bay, Mdantsane and Ncera are locations which have thus been utilised
by the 40 cast and crew members.
Keith Ngesi, Buffalo City Metro (BCM) spokesperson, said: “We welcome that
they have chosen BCM to shoot the movie. We are excited about the project and
how they are showcasing the metro.’
South African stars such as Luthuli Dlamini (Scandal), Katlego Danke
(Generations) and Wandile Molebatsi (A Million Colours) feature in the film which
portrays the dark underworld of the drug trade.
“[The film] is about how drugs affect us on a personal level. It shows that to
stop the scourge of drugs, it’s going to be a multi-pronged effort – not just the
police. The whole community has to be involved. We are all affected indirectly and
anyone can be caught in that world,’ said Dlamini who plays a drug lord named
Big Daddy.
The movie is expected to release in August this year.
