Yolisa Phahle, M-Net director of Local Interest Channels, says: “The high calibre
of acting talent that is joining the already acclaimed cast is testament to the
show’s impact within the acting community of Mzansi. We’re thrilled to welcome
back Rockville to Mzansi Magic and are confident that Season 2 will consolidate
the channel’s commitment to taking South African television to the next level in
terms of relevance, compelling entertainment and production values.’
Season 1 of Rockville left viewers in anticipation, following the shooting of
Jackson JB Bogatsu (Shona Ferguson) by Mavis Mabaso (Connie Ferguson).
While JB fights for his life on the surgeon’s table, Mavis battles with her decision
to shoot the man her daughter loves.
Connie and Shona Ferguson, executive producers of Rockville, are excited about
Season 2: “We were inspired by the positive response we got from Season 1
and pushed the boundaries to deliver an even better season. Rockville 2 is
darker, edgier and sexy. Each episode will keep the audience wanting more.
Everyone brought their best to the table from cast to crew and we can’t wait to
show the audience what’s in store.’
