A portion of the sale proceeds from the annual Screen Africa golf day has been donated to the Endangered Wildlife Trust’s (EWT) Rhino Project, an initiative that intervenes at various stages of the poaching crisis in South Africa.
Rhino project manager at EWT, Kirsty Brebner, thanks Screen Africa for helping to contribute towards the project goal – to allow future generations the privilege of seeing free-roaming rhinos.
Says Brebner: “Every person who makes a contribution helps, and if more people like you help to fight this scourge, we have a much better chance of winning this war.’
This year 725 rhinos have been killed for their horns in South Africa, according to figures released on 3 October.
