Restless City, directed by Nigerian-born Andrew Dosunmu, screens at 17h30 on 2 October at the First Wednesday Film Clubat Atlas Studios in Johannesburg.
The movie tells the story of a Senegalese musician trying to survive life and love in New York City in the US. The film reflects the struggle of immigrants who go in search of “the American dream’ but find a much harsher reality.
Restless City premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.
The free screening takes place in Studio 4 and guests are encouraged to arrive early due to limited seating.
