Two South African films are currently doing well at the local box office. Lien se Lankstaan Skoene (3 prints) has been on circuit for six weeks and has made just over R2m, while Blitz Patrolie (5 prints) has made R1.4m after five weeks of release.
Both films face tough opposition from a plethora of Hollywood blockbusters, namely Fast and Furious 6 (87 prints) which has brought in a cool R22.8m after just three weeks.
Star Trek: Into the Darkness (including 3D) (88 prints) made R1.8 in its opening week. The Hangover 3 (81 prints) has raked in a huge R6.4m after two weeks of release.
The Great Gatsby (including 3D) (44 prints) has attracted big audiences over the past four weeks and has amassed R7.9m.
Meanwhile, Iron Man 3 (including 3D) has made a mega R31.2m after six weeks on the circuit. (Figures supplied by SAFACT)
