The Croods, an animated feature about the first family road trip ever, became the biggest opening film of 2013 in South Africa with a four-day Easter weekend opening of R6.6 million including advance sneaks.
Releasing on 101 screens on Friday 29 March nationwide, the movie was the highest Fox opening film in the country after Ice Age 3.
This 3D comedy adventure released on Friday 22 March in the US and also opened in the number one spot with a box office record of US$43.6m.
