South African movie Otelo Burning took home four awards at the 2013 AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) that was held in association with MultiChoice on 9 March in Lagos, Nigeria.
Sara Blecher’s highly lauded Otelo Burning won Best Movie at the event. In total, South Africa took home 10 awards on Saturday night, while Nigeria won seven and Kenya and Ghana were also awarded for their filmmaking efforts.
