Film Buzz, the popular Dubai International Film Festival screening series takes place from 25 February to 27 February 2013. A 7 Hour Difference, directed by Deema Amr, shows on the 25th, Never Let Me Go screens on 26 February and audiences can enjoy The Last Kiss (L’ultimo Bacio) on the 27th. The movies all show at 19h30 at The Pavilion Downtown Dubai.
Jordanian director Amr will conduct a Q & A session with the audience in attendance on opening night. Her movie, A 7 Hour Difference, had its world premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival in 2011 and was presented in the Muhr Arab Feature competition. After DIFF, the film enjoyed success at festivals worldwide, winning Best International Feature Film at the Manhattan Film Festival in 2012.
The romantic feature is an example of what can happen when East meets West at the crossroads of love, culture and, most importantly, family. Dalia (Randa Karadsheh) has returned home to Amman from the US to partake in the festivities leading up to her sister’s wedding when she gets a huge surprise – the love of her love, Jason (Thom Bishops) shows up unannounced in Amman and proposes…
Film Buzz takes place on the last Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. Entry is free and a first come, first served basis applies. The Pavilion can only accommodate 60 people per screening, so film buffs are urged to arrive early.
