Hot on the heels of its suspension last week of head of Procurement Nompilo Dlamini, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has issued a letter to group chief financial officer Gugu Duda asking her to rationalise why she shouldn’t also be suspended.
According to Eye Witness News, this latest round of suspension action is due to alleged financial irregularities.
This week has also seen SABC board chairperson Dr Ben Ngubane suggest to the parliamentary portfolio committee on communications that board member Cawe Mahlati be removed from her position.
The SABC board will return to parliament on Tuesday, 18 September for another meeting regarding the public broadcaster’s various crises. (Additional source: TV with Thinus)
