The new film from South African King of Comedy Leon Schuster, Mad Buddies (91 prints) is blockbuster performing as expected at the local box office. In just two weeks the film’s cumulative budget was a huge R11.3m.
It made R3.6m over the weekend of 29 June to 1 July, putting it in second spot after new release Ice Age 4: Continental Drift (including 3D) (104 Prints), which made R5.4m.
In third spot was another animated film, Madagascar 3 (including 3D) (93 prints). It made R2.8m over the weekend and its cumulative box office after three weeks is R18.1m.
Snow White & The Huntsman (77 prints) and What To Expect When You’re Expecting (52 prints) made the fourth and fifth spots. Their cumulative box office figures are R10.7m and R4.1m respectively. (Figures supplied by SAFACT)
