The Johannesburg premiere of Mama Africa, the documentary about the life and music of Africa’s legendary musician and anti-apartheid activist, Miriam Makeba, will take place at The Bioscope Independent Cinema on Thursday, 3 May at 7.30pm.
Mama Africa uses rare archive footage of Makeba’s performances, interviews and intimate moments over the years to show a unique person, a world icon, and a woman that never had a pass for her own country, but many passports.
The entrance fee is R10. The Bioscope is situated at 286 Fox Street in downtown Johannesburg.
