A local documentary on the South African Border War is being screened widely to popular acclaim, and will soon be broadcast on SABC2.
Captor and Captive – the story of Danger Ashipala and Johan van der Mescht tells the story of two enemy soldiers who meet 30 years after an event that changed both of their lives.
The documentary, directed and produced by Rina Jooste, recently returned from a screening at the Luxor African Film Festival in Egypt in February, where it was well received.
It will be broadcast on SABC2 on 11 March at 9pm, and then travel to the Cape Winelands Film Festival in Cape Town from 14 to 27 March.
