South Africa’s first full length Afrikaans dubbed spoof movie, Spoofie! Die Wilde Weste, has launched its teaser trailer and official website.
Screen Africa previously reported that the project from director, writer and producer Remano De Beer of 12Eleven Productions has taken a classic John Wayne western McLintock! and turned it into an Afrikaans comedy by rearranging scenes, adding new footage and dubbing the dialogue into Afrikaans.
De Beer was a finalist in the M-Net Edit Online Film Festival 2006 and a winner in the same festival the following year.
The DVD, distributed by Next Entertainment, will be available in video rental stores in March.
