A piece of movie memorabilia from the first Afrikaans vampire film is being auctioned this week on online marketplace Bid or Buy.
Bloedsuiers is due to start shooting in July, and producers are aiming to finance the film through crowd funding, while money made from the auction will also contribute.
Up for grabs in the auction is the original replica of Francois van Coke’s dentures with custom made fangs attached, as worn in teaser clips for the film. Also included is a display case and official production stills, one of which is autographed by Van Coke. The auction opened on Tuesday 21 June and will run until 27 June.
According to News24 the opening bid for the display case, valued at R5,000, was R801.
Crowd Funding for the film also opened again for 20 and 26 June, and fans of the film can pledge as little as R30 on the Bloedsuiers website. According to the website they are aiming to raise the final R100,00 for the production in this way.
The film will star Fokofpolisiekar frontman Francois van Coke, Inge Beckmann, Rob van Vuuren and Andre Roothman, and Afrikaans rapper Jack Parrow is attached to make a cameo appearance.
