The SOS Support Public Broadcasting coalition reports that four names have been selected by the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee to fill the vacant posts on the board of the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC).
The nominees are:
Dr Sethe Patricia Makhesha, executive at Safcol (consensus nomination)
John Sembie Danana, businessman (ANC nomination)
Adv. Cawekazi Benedicta Mahlati, Gauteng Tourusm and Bop-TV (ANC nomination)
Lumko Mtimde, MDDA & ANC proponent of the MAT (ANC nomination)
The names are to be debated and confirmed by the National Assembly and then submitted to the President, who will make the final appointment.
