The seventh installment of the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, is not only blitzing the global cinema circuit, it’s also setting records at IMAX large format theatres.
Globally the film made $16.1m at over 340 IMAX theatres around the world during its opening weekend, with $11.8m of that figure coming from the USA alone.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has beat the previous IMAX record holder, Alice in Wonderland which opened on $15.3m.
