The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) is taking a lead in the ever-evolving digital distribution world by forming new partnerships with top streaming websites and web retailers. NFB creates social-issue documentaries, auteur animation, alternative drama and digital content that provide the world with a unique Canadian perspective.
The new partnership deals will provide high-speed access to NFB films for viewers around the world. Thirty NFB films will be offered worldwide on http://www.joiningthedots.tv/, a documentary Video On Demand/Pay Per View subscription site based in the UK.
In addition New Video (http://www.newvideo.com/) will release 10 new NFB titles through iTunes in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
“These are the markets of the future and we are excited to be bringing Canadian creativity to these new online audiences,” said Deborah Drisdell, NFB Director General of Access and Digital Enterprises. “Digital transformation and wide accessibility are our priorities and these are the kinds of partnerships that take the NFB to the next level in terms of digital distribution.”
NFB’s new website features over 1,800 productions online.
