In line with the current global craze for stereoscopic 3D sweeping the cinemas, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox plan to re-release Star Wars: Episode 1 The Phantom Menace in 3D in 2012. Originally released in 1999, the film stars Liam Neesen, Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman.
John Knoll, Visual Effects Supervisor and Oscar winner told Hitflx: “For Star Wars we will take our time, applying everything we know both aesthetically and technically to bring audiences a fantastic new Star Wars experience."
