The terrible heatwave in Moscow which has given rise to uncontrollable fires in the forests near the Russian capital has been felt in Hollywood. The Summit Entertainment/New Regency production The Darkest Hour, an alien-invasion thriller shooting in Moscow has had to be suspended due to thick smoke engulfing the location.
The film stars Olivia Thirlby and Emile Hirsch and is directed by Chris Gorak.
According to an online report by The Hollywood Reporter, the smoke presented a potential health hazard to the actors and crew. It is hoped that shooting will be able to commence in two weeks time.
