KC Jones passed away suddenly on Sunday 09th May 2010 in Cape Town.
KC had in illustrious and accomplished career in the film industry. He was born in Surrey in the U.K. and after gaining experience at the Film Laboratories, he joined Elstree Studios camera department. KC enjoyed working on productions such as The Saint, Summer Holiday Alfred The Great, You only Live Twice, Oliver and many many more. He moved to South Africa after working on the Born Free television series.
His journey as a DOP included working with Grey Hofmeyer, Keith Rose, Alex Thompson, Vincent Cox, Freddy Young, Harmon Cusack, .John Guillerman, Sir Carol Reed, Peter Collinson and many others
KC worked on numerous local productions in various positions sharing his vast accumulated knowledge and experience with many. Tigers Don’t Cry (Cameraman) South African Features (Production Manager) Zulu Dawn (Location manager) Richard Guish of Salem as DOP (Gold award for photography. Nominated for Banff Film Festival). The Ghost and The Darkness (Location Manager- part) Heel Against The Head (Producer).
He has also line produced and AD’d many commercials and documentaries.
He was currently working as Associate Producer on “African Renaissance’
KC had a wonderful kind and sharing disposition that will be sadly missed by many.
He leaves behind his partner, Charmaine Donsignore and many friends.
