Registration has officially opened for the 14th annual Highway Africa Conference which takes place at Rhodes University’s Eden Grove Complex from 5 – 7 July 2010. The conference is the world’s largest gathering of African journalists. This year’s theme is ‘African voices in the global media space’.
Highway Africa Conference 2010 plans to celebrate and interrogate African journalism and media and how these are opening up and expanding spaces for engagement. With globalisation being an accepted reality of modern society, the debate now is about what are the rules of engagement in the globalised world.
The conference will also look at training programmes that tertiary institutions and media organisations should develop in order to adequately equip the ideal 21st Century media professional.
Highway Africa is a project of Rhodes University, in partnership with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), and the Department of Communication (South Africa) with the support of several partners, development agencies and sponsors.
Deadline for registration is 4 June 2010. To register, go towww.highwayafrica.com/registration.
