Prompted by the 29 April launch of South Africa’s second satellite pay-TV service, TopTV, incumbent MultiChoice has introduced a new low price offering on its DStv bouquet, effective 30 April.
DStv Lite costs R99 per month and comprises of 25 video channels, 32 radio and 10 DMX music channels.
The bouquet includes the following video channels: TCM, MagicWorld, Africa Magic+, Zone Reality, Soweto TV, The Home Channel, SS Blitz, SuperSport Action, Channel O, TBN, Rhema, Islam Channel, BBC World News, CNN International, Al Jazeera, Parliamentary Service, CNBC Africa, Summit TV, Weather 24, Mindset Learn and the four free-to-air channels e.tv and SABC1,2and 3.
DStv subscribers can now choose from the following options: DStv EasyView (R20), DStv Lite (R99), DStv Select 1(R1480), DStv Select 2 (R148), DStv Compact (R232) or DStv Premium (R529).
Existing DStv bouquets will be improved as follows: DStv Select 1 will get eight additional video channels, to have a total of 34 video channels, 32 radio and 10 DMX music channels. DStv Select 2 will get six additional video channels, to have a total of 32 video channels, 32 radio and 10 DMX music channels. DStv Compact will get four additional video channels, to have a total of 44 video channels, 32 radio and 10 DMX music channels.
