Four major international news agencies, AFP, AP, Reuters and Getty Images, will boycott the Cannes Internatioanl Film Festival news conference to be held on Thursday, 15 April.
The agencies are objecting to the restrictions placed on them by the Festival which has signed exclusivity contracts with media sponsors, French broadcaster Canal Plus and France Telecom pay-TV subsidiary Orange.
The annual press conference in Paris serves to inform the local, national and international media about the films selected for the Festival.
