Renowned German director Wim Wenders (Buena Vista Social Club, Wings of Desire) believes that in a few years time, 3D will be widely used by documentary filmmakers.
“This is because 3D can create a new door to reality. It aids and strengthens our access to reality,’ Wenders told Cineuropa.
Wenders was debuting his stereoscopic 3D documentary, Il Volo, which was commissioned by the Calabria Region in Italy and co-produced with the local Film Commission and with support from the High Commissioner of the United Nations.
Il Volo documents the “welcome’ that was given to a group of Kurds who settled on the Calabrian coast over 10 years ago.
