Due to for broadcast on SABC3 between January and March 2010, The Bar-One Manhunt is a reality TV show that pits 14 of South Africa’s most handsome men against each other in a series of challenges designed to showcase their ruggedness, sophistication, physical and mental strengths.
Presented by Ursula Stapelfeldt, The Bar-One Manhunt will show contestants competing in a range of exciting local and international destinations. They will be eliminated through a combination of voting mechanics, until the last man standing wins the title of Bar-One Man.
“We’re very excited about The Bar-One Manhunt and its prospects for riveting viewing,’ says Bar-One brand manager Monique Koning. “Each week will bring fresh, innovative challenges that local viewers have never seen in a reality TV series – and, of course, the show features some of the most eligible men around.’
However, Koning continues, “while there will be emphasis on physically demanding activities, it’s not all about muscles or looks. We will be testing both aspects of their brains and brawn to determine the winner.’
The BAR-ONE website www.barone.co.za will be the official interactive cyberspace home for the series. It will include information on the show, the contestants, episode breakdowns and unseen extra footage. The discussion page will enable viewers to air their views about the show and their favourite contestants, vote online for favourite contestants and enter the online competition. The website will also be updated daily with new photographs, information, video clips and additional information.
Viewers will also be able to read about the show and find out more about the contestants and the challenges they face in regular instalments in People magazine.
